Senior Fleet Personnel Officer

As a Senior Fleet Personnel Officer for BSM Cruise, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient manning of cruise vessels. Acting as a key link between sea and shore, you will oversee crew planning, recruitment, rotation, and performance to ensure exceptional service standards onboard while fully adhering to maritime regulations and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Execute cruise vessel manning plans by identifying, evaluating, and selecting qualified seafarers in line with flag state, customer, and company requirements.
Review and issue employment contracts ensuring full compliance with international, national, and cruise‑sector standards.
Plan and implement crew rotations and End‑of‑Contract procedures to maintain uninterrupted vessel operations.
Monitor current and upcoming vacancies, supporting the development of annual manning plans.
Coordinate embarkation and disembarkation logistics, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost‑effective arrangements.
Maintain accurate crew records and documentation.
Act as the primary contact for shipboard management teams on all standard and emergency crewing matters.
Communicate operational changes, ensuring vessel teams receive updated procedures and documentation.
Assess crew performance, identify training needs, and collaborate with training centers.
Optimize crew travel, accommodation, and related costs, ensuring value‑for‑money procurement.
Support compliance with maritime and cruise‑industry regulations, including coordination with flag state authorities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in a maritime, hospitality, or HR‑related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in fleet personnel operations, marine HR, or cruise‑sector crewing.
Proven experience in employment contract administration, crew planning, and maritime compliance.
Experience in the cruise industry (hotel or marine departments) is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with maritime labour law, seafarers’ rights, and cruise‑sector manning requirements.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of cruise vessel crew requirements, including both deck/engine and hotel operations.
Knowledge of global and local employment markets within the cruise sector.
Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders, including shipboard and shore‑based management.
High attention to detail and strong commitment to compliance.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Proficiency in MS Office, HR systems, and digital collaboration tools.
