Corporate Group Accounts Officer

As a Corporate Group Accounts Officer at BSM, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and the general ledger, performing reconciliations, producing fixed asset reports, and managing intercompany billings — in full alignment with BSM accounting rules, standards, and company policies.
Collaborates with various groups to control and oversee group costs from a financial perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Processes all the accounting transactions of the Group entities i.e. invoices, expenses, -, etc., updating accordingly all the respective accounting ledgers, in order to assist in the effective monitoring of each Group entity financial operation and compliance with the accounting rules and legislation.
Upon approval, proceeds to the prompt settlement of all accounts/payments of Group entities.
Issues inter-company invoices and reconciles inter-company balances on a periodic basis.
Proceeds to the reconciliation of accounting transactions, as well as prepares and updates all accounting records and subordinate ledgers of the Group entities in accordance with BSM accounting policies, the chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices.
Updates all the management accounting systems, in order to provide prompt and adequate information concerning costs and other financial/ accounting information, for purposes of control and evaluation of operations’ performance.
Exerts cost control for the group teams as per the agreed budgets and policies.
Identifies cost-controlling measures for the group teams and supports in the review of the controlling areas identified. This includes but is not limited to expenses exceeding the budget.
Preparation of the budget and forecasts, ensuring the needful is done to ensure budgets are not excessive and forecasts are realistic and achievable. Produces monthly and quarterly financial statements.
Monitors actual results with the budget / Forecast, ensures the development of the respective management reports, and flags issues for consideration.
Assists in the execution of internal and external audits by timely gathering and providing all the required information and data.
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
2–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within ship management or a similar industry.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
Good analytical and conceptual thinking
Attention to detail
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of the local/regional maritime market conditions
Very good people management skills
Fluency in English
