As an IT Officer at BSM, you will be responsible for supporting the IT Manager in the day-to-day execution of IT operations and infrastructure projects. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring technology initiatives align with BSM standards and policies, enabling seamless connectivity between ship and shore and positioning IT as a key business enabler.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing IT operations and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of SAN storage infrastructure in virtual environments.

  • Administer and optimize VMware vSphere environments for high availability and performance.

  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server (2019 or above) environments.

  • Ensure robust networking solutions with a focus on virtual infrastructure and WAN connectivity.

  • Contribute to High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity planning and execution.

  • Maintain security best practices across systems and networks.

  • Provide timely updates and insights to management to support IT initiatives as business enablers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science is an advantage.

  • Certifications and/or significant experience with VMware vSphere environments.

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft or Cisco are a plus.

  • Proven experience with SAN storage infrastructure and Microsoft Active Directory.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019 or above and Microsoft Cloud/Office 365.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong networking skills with emphasis on virtual infrastructure and WAN networking.

  • Security-focused mindset with a solid understanding of the OSI Reference Model.

  • Ability to plan and execute High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
