As a Group Financial Controller at BSM, you will be responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with international and local accounting standards. This role is strategically important in bridging ship and shore operations, providing critical financial insights, and supporting decision-makers with reliable data to optimize performance and manage risk.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, control, and review budgets and forecasts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and achievement of financial targets.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and consolidated financial statements and management reports, highlighting issues and recommending solutions.
Review and analyze operational and management reports from assigned entities, coordinating as necessary.
Oversee working capital by monitoring accounts receivable and payable, raising issues, and proposing corrective actions.
Enforce cost control measures and evaluate capital expenditure requests against approved budgets and policies.
Ensure compliance with international and local accounting principles, legislation, and tax requirements; supervise statutory financial statement preparation.
Identify investment opportunities and hedging strategies to optimize asset utilization, cash flow, and minimize risk exposure, particularly in foreign exchange.
Provide analytical reports on liquidity and foreign exchange status to support strategic decisions.
Act as the primary contact for financial and accounting matters, offering support and guidance to entities and functions.
Undertake ad-hoc assignments such as tax projects, IT infrastructure development, supply chain issues, performance management, feasibility studies, and investment appraisals.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
Proven experience in financial reporting, cost control, and compliance within complex organizational structures.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure evaluations effectively.
Proficiency in financial risk management, particularly in foreign exchange and liquidity.
Clear communication skills with the ability to influence and support stakeholders.
High integrity, accountability, and adaptability to handle diverse assignments.
