As a Yacht Technical Superintendent (m/f/d) at BSM Yachting, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective technical operation of a fleet of private and commercial vessels. You will serve as the key link between yacht management teams, vessels, and suppliers, providing expert technical oversight and enabling seamless collaboration between ship and shore. Your role supports the reliability, compliance, and continual improvement of the fleet’s technical performance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for technical matters between the Yacht Manager, vessels, and suppliers.
Oversee the technical superintendency of an assigned fleet.
Coordinate and supervise planned maintenance activities across all vessels.
Manage spare parts, inventories, stock control, and technical procurement.
Maintain and supervise technical budgets, ensuring accurate financial control.
Select, negotiate, coordinate, and supervise suppliers and contractors.
Ensure compliance with Class and Flag technical requirements; prepare for and attend surveys.
Coordinate and prepare regular dry‑dock activities.
Promote continuous improvement of systems, processes, contractors, and technical solutions.
Participate in the Emergency Response Team when required.
Support new‑build project management activities as needed.
Provide technical consultancy to clients.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
Sea‑going experience as Chief Engineer, or shore‑based experience as a Technical Superintendent.
Experience as Technical Manager, Project Manager, or Technical Superintendent within the yachting, cruise, ferry, or offshore sectors.
Established knowledge of shipyards and yacht‑specific contractors.
Strong knowledge of ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Solid understanding of onboard AV/IT systems.
Strong financial and budget management skills related to technical activities such as refits, maintenance, surveys, repairs, and spares.
Fluent English; additional languages (German, Dutch, French, Italian) beneficial.
